RACE OF CHAMPIONS MODIFIED SERIES SET TO RETURN TO LANCASTER MOTORPLEX FOR THE OL’ BOY CUP VI ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 13
The Race of Champions Modified Series will make its second of three visits of the 2022 season at Lancaster Motorplex this coming Saturday, August 13, 2022. The Ol’ Boy Cup has become a tradition for Race of Champions Modified Series participants.
Bill Colton, Jr., known as the “Ol’ Boy” played a role in many of their careers over time as well as introducing the Thermal Foam blocks, which have helped save drivers and racecars during impacts at Lancaster and other speedways throughout the region.
Mike Leaty of Williamson, N.Y., won the Series first visit to Lancaster in early June. Zane Zeiner of Bath, Pa., won the Series most recent event at Holland (N.Y.) International Speedway. Patrick Emerling of Orchard Park, N.Y. a past Series champion and many time winner at Lancaster is looking forward to next Saturday.
“We’re really looking forward to getting to Lancaster,” stated Emerling, who will be back behind the wheel of the Advantage Trucking 14. “We’ve been fast and got a win at Spencer and we thought we had something for them at Holland but we had a motor break. It was unfortunate. Hopefully, we can turn things around at Lancaster next Saturday night, we’re looking forward to it and honoring the Ol’ Boy in Bill Colton, Jr., it should be a great night.”
The Race of Champions Modified Series will be joined by Lancaster Motorplex weekly divisions.
