McKay Wenger attends USA Nationals at Cedar Lake Speedway
McKay Wenger returned with the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series on Thursday as he trekked to Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wis.) to compete in a field of 46 cars for the 35th annual USA Nationals weekend. (Todd Boyd photos)
Following the 18th-fastest qualifying lap in his group, Wenger advanced forward three spots in his heat race to finish sixth. Needing to place third or better in his B-Main to make the $6,000-to-win preliminary feature, McKay posted a fifth-place finish.
With passing points from pair of heat races on Friday setting the grid for Saturday’s main event, McKay recorded a seventh and sixth-place finish. Receiving a spot into the $3,000-to-win FANS Fund Dash, Wenger passed three cars to register a fifth-place finish.
Transferring into a B-Main on Saturday for one last shot at the $50,000-to-win USA Nationals finale, Wenger fell short of a transfer position with an eighth-place outing.
