Fifth-place finish in North-South 100 at Florence Speedway

Shortly after laying down the second-fastest time in his group, a looming storm cancelled the remainder of Thursday’s prelim.
For another $5,000-to-win preliminary on Friday, Mike followed up the seventh-fastest time in his group with a second-place finish in his heat. After running as high a second in the 25-lap prelim, Marlar suffered a flat left-rear tire that dropped him to 16th when the checkered flag flew.
On Saturday, Marlar secured his spot into the $75,000-to-win North-South 100 with a sixth-to-third run in his heat. Wheeling his way into the top-five, Mike passed eight cars in the 100-lapper to register a fifth-place finish. He followed Jonathan Davenport, Brandon Overton, Dale McDowell, and Ricky Thornton Jr. to the checkers.
