Runner-up finish in North-South prelim at Florence Speedway

With Mother Nature axing Thursday’s prelim shortly after time trials wrapped up, Pearson Jr. timed in third-fastest in his group on Friday before placing first in his heat. With $5,000 on the line in the feature, Earl gained one spot in the 25-lapper to finish second. He followed Hudson O’Neal across the line with Bobby Pierce rounding out the podium.
On Saturday, Earl secured his spot into the $75,000-to-win North-South 100 with a runner-up finish in his heat. Losing two positions in the 100-lap affair, Pearson Jr. crossed the line in 11th.
Earl sits in sixth in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
