Podium finish with Iron-Man Series at Duck River Raceway Park

Laying down a 13.124-second lap in time trials to claim the fast time honors, Beets locked into the pole for the opening night feature. With $5,000 on the line, Eli faded two spots in the 40-lap affair to finish third. He trailed Sam Seawright and Michael Chilton to the checkers.
For the annual Governor’s Cup on Saturday at Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Ala.), Eli was forced to take a provisional into the $10,000-to-win A-Main after missing a transfer spot in his heat and B-Main. Pulling off on the second circuit of the 50-lapper, Beets was credited with a 22nd-place outing.
