Sixth-place finish in season opener at Volusia

Bringing to life his 2022 season, Clay Harris traveled to Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Fla.) on Thursday afternoon to compete with the Crate Racin’ USA Winter Shootout Series for the three-day Sunshine Nationals. With rough track conditions forcing officials to postpone his feature to Friday afternoon, Harris gained two spots to register a sixth-place finish.

Later Friday evening, Harris secured his spot into the $2,000-to-win A-Main with a seventh-to-third run in his heat.

After a late-night shower delayed his feature until Saturday, continuous rain throughout the night postponed his feature to February 7th and cancelled Saturday night’s program.
