Chase Junghans visits Lucas Oil MLRA victory lane at Lakeside; New Website Launched

Taking control of the lead on the third circuit, Chase Junghans piloted his Shop Quik Convenience Stores No. 18 Bozard Ford Lincoln/XR1 Rocket Chassis/ Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model to his first win of the 2022 season on Friday night at Lakeside Speedway.

The Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA) triumph in the Clyde Ellis Memorial rewarded Junghans with $5,000 as well as momentum heading into a busy week of racing.

“We were good, I just messed up in that first corner and got too tight. The track was fun, it had a lot of character to it, you had to kind of move around and stuff to pass lapped cars, but all in all it was a good night and we finally got er’ done,” Junghans noted. “We’ve got a big week in front of us as we head to Eldora (Speedway) for the World 100, and hopefully this gives us the shot in the arm we need to be fast up there.”

Chase Junghans was back behind the wheel of his Bozard Ford No. 18 Late Model on Friday evening at Lakeside Speedway (Kansas City, Kan.) for the Clyde Ellis Memorial.

Drawing 21 Lucas Oil Midwest LateModel Racing Association (MLRA) entries, Junghans qualified third quick in time trials before picking up a heat race win.

Starting the feature in the second position, Chase blasted past early leader Andrew Kosiski on the third lap and dominated the remainder of the 30-lapper to capture his first win of the season and second career Lucas Oil MLRA triumph.

He bagged the $5,000 payday 3.894-seconds ahead of Kosiski with Aaron Marrant, Peyton Looney, and Spencer Diercks rounding out the Top-5.
