Stevens Sweeps Louisiana State Championship Weekend
Tyler Stevens pocketed north of $12,000 for his weekend sweep of the 50th annual Louisiana State Championships at Boothill Speedway aboard his W&W Timber / James A. Rogers Excavating No. 2 Stallion Transportation Group / MB Customs / Mod Co Racing Engine Super Late Model.
With back-to-back COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) Super Late Model triumphs, he not only extended his advantage atop the Midwest Sheet Metal Rookie of the Year standings, but he also put himself within striking distance of the 2022 series championship with just three events remaining.
“What an absolute huge weekend for our little team. We’ve got some good sponsors, but as everybody knows this stuff ain’t cheap, so winning $12,000 is a big deal for us,” Stevens said. “Both nights, we had to work for it and race hard, but we got the job done. We’re getting ready for Greenville now and are focused on going after another $12,000 weekend down there. It’s pretty cool that we have a mathematical chance at the title now too. I know it’s a long shot, but to just in contention in our rookie season against this caliber of drivers is a dream come true in itself.
“I just can’t say enough about my family, my team, and all of my sponsors, and what they do for me, and mean to me. Zero chance I could do half of what I do without their amazing support.”
Tyler Stevens bagged his second win of the season on Friday night in the opening round of the 50th annual Louisiana State Championship at Boothill Speedway (Greenwood, La.).
Twenty COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) Super Late Model competitors entered the event. Tyler won his heat race to lock into the third-starting spot for the 35-lap feature.
Charging to the lead on the third circuit he never looked back on his way to his second win of the year, which was worth $6,000.
He was followed across the finish line by Logan Martin, Cade Dillard, Billy Moyer Jr., and Kyle Beard.
On Saturday night action continued with another $6,000-to-win program, and the end result would be the same as the previous night with Stevens standing in FloRacing Victory Lane at the conclusion of the night's finale.
From the pole position, Stevens turned back the challenges of Cade Dillard to claim his second-straight $6,000 victory. Dillard, Kyle Beard, Brian Rickman, and Morgan Bagley completed the Top-5 finishers.
Tyler continues to lead the latest Midwest Sheet Metal Rookie of the Year standings with the series and fifth in the overall points.

The team now is preparing for the upcoming weekend’s 16th annual Gumbo Nationals at Greenville (Miss.) Speedway. The weekend is sanctioned by the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) Super Late Models and is highlighted by a $4,000-to-win program on Friday and an $8,000-to-win event on Saturday.
