Thompson Takes Part in the Iron Cup

Cody Thompson made the short trip to Park Jefferson (S.D.) Speedway on Saturday night to enter the opening round of the Iron Cup in the IMCA Modifieds presented by JZ Diesel.

With 19 drivers in action and double heat races on the docket, Cody won his first heat from the fourth-starting spot and his second heat race from the third-starting spot to earn a spot in the Dash.

He started and finished second in the Dash.

Via his Saturday night performance, Cody lined up second in Saturday night's 30-lap finale. He raced in a podium spot throughout the feature before crossing the finish line in second behind Brandon Beckendorf with Chris Abelson, Shane DeMey, and Jim Thies rounding out the Top-5 finishers.
