Martin heads South to begin 2023 season at East Bay
With the short off-season behind him, Parker Martin returned to the driver's seat of his Martin General Contractors No. 6JR Late Model at Easy Bay Raceway Park for the Crate Racin' USA-sanctioned East Bay Winter Nationals.
For Thursday's preliminary night, Martin followed up a seventh-place qualifying lap with a seventh-to-second charge in his heat. Starting from the fifth row, Parker fell outside of the Top-15 early but rallied to finish where he started in ninth.
For another $2,500-to-win event on Friday, Parker topped the chart in his qualifying group and went on to earn a fifth-place starting spot after winning his heat race. In the 30-lap feature, Martin ran inside the Top-5 for much of the race but faded late to finish eighth.
With the event finishing up on Saturday with a $5,000-to-win finale, Martin finished fifth in his heat followed by a runner-up finish in the second B-Main. For the 50-lap A-Main, Parker was early retiree on lap 19.
