Putnam Opens 2023 in Screven's Winter Freeze

Josh Putnam and the team decided to open their 2023 season a few days early. En route to Florida to compete in next week's 47th annual Winternationals at East Bay Raceway Park (Gibsonton, Fla.), Putnam made a stop at Screven Motor Speedway (Sylvania, Ga.) on Saturday night for the $10,000-to-win Winter Freeze with the Southern All Star (SAS) Dirt Racing Series Super Late Models.

Twenty-two competitors entered the program, and the night began with Putnam qualifying seventh fastest in his group. He went on to race from fourth to second in his heat race to lock into the sixth-starting spot for the 50-lap feature.

He would struggle to get rolling in the feature, and ultimately registered a 14th-place finish.
