Dillard 10th with USMTS at Rocket Raceway Park
With wet weather wiping out his plans for the weekend with the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series, Cade Dillard pulled out his Modified on Saturday night to compete with the United States Modified Touring Series (UMSTS) at Rocket Raceway Park (Petty, Texas) for the 2023 season opener.
Drawing a stack fields of 87 cars for the rain-shortened two-day event, Dillard raced his way into the $10,000-to-win A-Main via a consolation victory. Starting in 15th, Cade was an early retiree from the 40-lapper on the eighth circuit.
On Sunday, Cade followed up a fifth-place outing in his heat with a sixth-to-second charge in his B-Main. With $5,000 on the line in the event originally scheduled for Friday but postponed by threatening weather, Dillard passed nine cars in the 40-lap affair to register a 10th-place finish.
