Podium finish in Jimmy Thomas Memorial at East Alabama
Carson Ferguson entered his Paylor Motorsports No. 93 Late Model into competition at Buckshot Speedway (Clanton, Ala.) on Friday afternoon for the opener to the two-day weekend.
With 32 Late Models in the pit area, Carson locked himself into the 40-lap feature with the fifth-quickest lap in his qualifying group. Rolling off from the 10th position in the $7,553-to-win feature, Ferguson kept his nose clean and recorded a eighth-place finish.
Traveling overnight to East Alabama Motor Speedway (Phenix City, Ala.) for the Jimmy Thomas Memorial, Ferguson started the evening by ripping off the third-fastest lap in qualifying before wheeling his way to a heat race victory. For the $10,053-to-win main event, Carson battled for the lead early but ultimately settled for a third-place finish. He trailed Brandon Overton and Ashton Winger, while Sam Seawright and Dalton Cook round out the Top-5.
