Horton records two Top-10 finishes with Spring Nationals

Austin Horton began a two-day weekend with the Schaeffer’s Spring Nationals miniseries on Friday afternoon at Buckshot Speedway (Clanton, Ala.).

With a stout 32 car field, Horton transferred to the A-Main with a seventh-place finish in the second B-Main. For the $7,553-to-win feature, Horton charged from the last row and gained 14 positions on his way to a 10th-place finish.

The following night at East Alabama Motor Speedway (Phenix City, Ala.) for the Jimmy Thomas Memorial, Austin clicked off the fastest lap in qualifying before finishing runner-up in his heat. Rolling off from the third position in the $10,053-to-win feature event, Austin battled hard in the Top-5 before slipping to seventh when the checkers flew.
