(Warrensburg, Missouri) Since first announcing the exciting 23-night race schedule in mid-February, drivers and fans have waited patiently for the sights and sounds of racing to return, at last the wait is over! This Saturday, April 15 is the day when drivers have a chance to display their new looks at the annual car show, followed by a practice session later in the afternoon.
The day begins with the Car Show event, which takes place adjacent to Hwy 13 in the grassy area next to Pub 13 Bar and Grill. Participating drivers will need to have their cars in place by 10 a.m. and park just to the north, in a straight row along Hwy 13 to the north of the large speedway billboard. This is a perfect opportunity for drivers to talk about their race sponsors on the cars and to meet and greet fans, both young and old. Drivers should bring treat candies for the little race fans and dress appropriately to take pictures with families and kids. If drivers have them, hero cards are always popular with the kids as well. Drivers should remain in place until 3 p.m. in the afternoon. Drivers, please ensure your cars are clean for display.
The practice session will follow later that afternoon. Pit gates will open at 3:30 with the practice session beginning at 4:30 and ending at 7 p.m. All pit passes are $25 regardless of age. Admission to the grandstand is free. There will be very limited concessions on the pit side only. Drivers participating in the car show will receive a $10 discount on their practice pit pass.

In addition to the car show and practice, Pub 13 will also host a Flea Market on the southside of the large speedway billboard. The sale begins at 9 a.m. and runs until 4 p.m. There are spots available at the Flea Market for prospective vendors. For more information, call Sam Stoecklin, event coordinator, at (660) 909-1083. Spots are $35 each for 12 x 20 sizes. Admission is Free to the Car Show and Flea Market.
The weekly championship race season begins the following weekend, on Saturday, April 22, featuring all weekly divisions competing under the POWRi banner and rules sets. The CMS website contains all the rules links and sanctioning information at www.centralmissourispeedway.net. The 2023 schedule of events for Central Missouri Speedway (CMS) features 23 nights of racing spanning multiple classes and special events from April to September.
CMS “track registration” for the year is $60. POWRi membership registration for the 2023 season is mandatory in all weekly racing divisions at CMS. Drivers can find all registration information on the POWRi website at www.myracepass.com/sanctions/1011/registrations/6909. The link to the paper POWRi Membership Form is: www.powri.com/rules. All POWRi sanctioning and fees are separate from that of CMS. Please utilize the POWRi links as mentioned here to take care of your POWRi fees.
