Acres Veteran DelBiaggio Hoping To Win Saturday’s Rhody 100
There will be plenty of experienced drivers who will be participating in this Saturday’s Rhododendron 100 at Redwood Acres Raceway. The driver who likely will have the most time behind the wheel is Dennis DelBiaggio. The Ferndale driver has a wealth of experience of racing at the Acres from racing on the dirt as well as the pavement and he is entered into this weekend’s Rhododendron 100.
DelBiaggio’s racing schedule has cut back in recent seasons but that has not slowed him down at all. He placed fourth in his only start at RAR last season. DelBiaggio has scored a total of five top 5s in the annual Fall Spectacular including a third-place effort in 1998. Should DelBiaggio win Saturday, it would be the biggest win of his career.
Legends, bombers, mini stocks and roadrunners will join the late models for the Rhododendron 100 this Saturday April 29. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at Automasters in Eureka, Don’s Rent-All in Eureka, McKinleyville Barbershop and JC Auto in Fortuna. Tickets can also be purchased on RacinTheAcres.com or at the gate on race day. Grandstands open at 4:00 while racing will begin at 5:30. The event will also be live streamed on RacinTheAcres.tv and Speedsport.tv.
