Tough end for Mullens at Hamilton County
Tanner Mullens traveled to Hamilton County Speedway (Webster City, Iowa) this weekend to take part in the 13th annual USMTS Spring Classic.
On Thursday, Mullens drove his Bergman Tax & Accounting No. 02 Dirt Modified to a third-place finish in his heat race, then advanced to the main event after taking the checkered flag in his B-Main.
The Wichita, Kansas, driver started 16th for the 30-lap feature on the half-mile track, but came home 24th after blowing an engine while running inside the top-10.
Friday evening saw Mullens claim third position in his heat race, putting him 12th on the grid for the track's second 30-lap feature contest in as many nights.
In the night’s A-Main Mullens hit a hole and broke a J-bar, then was struck hard by another car, relegating him to a 23rd-place result.
The $10,000-to-win finale on Saturday was rained out.
