Erb seventh in Castrol FloRacing Night in America at Lincoln
Kicking off a four-race swing in the Land of Lincoln, Tyler Erb traveled to Spoon River Speedway (Canton, IL) on Wednesday afternoon to pilot his Best Performance Motorsports No. 1 Late Model for the Illinois Speedweek opener.
Amongst a stacked field of 48 Castrol FloRacing Night in America entries, Erb grabbed the fourth-and-final transfer spot in his heat, which positioned him on the seventh row for the A-Main. Running into trouble early, Tyler retired on the 12th circuit.
The following night at Lincoln Speedway (Lincoln, Ill.), Tyler outran overall fast-qualifier Brandon Sheppard in his heat race to pick up the eight-lap victory. Chasing a $23,023 payday in the feature, Erb led the opening nine circuits before fading to a seventh-place finish when the checkered flag flew.
For the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series-sanctioned Farmer City 74 on Friday at Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Ill.), Erb was forced to use a provisional into the show after missing a transfer spot by one car in his B-Main. Shortly after his consolation race exited the track, a persistent rain shower postponed the 74-lapper to Monday, May 15th.
Relying on a provisional again on Saturday into the $30,000-to-win FALS Spring Shootout at Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.), Tyler was scored 25th in the final rundown after retiring on the 26th circuit.
Locked into the 22nd-starting position for Monday’s rain-delayed Farmer City 74, Erb was an early retiree from the 74-lapper on lap 58.
Tyler sits ninth in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
