Shipley steers to 3rd-place finish at Oakshade Raceway
Shipley Racing and driver Colin Shipley visited Oakshade Raceway (Wauseon, Ohio) on Saturday to compete in the DIRTcar Late Model class alongside 28 other entrants.
Shipley piloted the Jim White Honda No. 44S car to a heat race win, putting him in the redraw for the A-Main. The driver from Weston, Ohio, ultimately started in the eighth position for the main event on the 3/8-mile, semi-banked clay oval.
Shipley entered the top five in the race’s opening laps and took the lead just before a late-race caution. He lost two spots on the restart and eventually scored a third-place result, taking the checkered flag behind winner Rusty Schlenk and runner-up Dusty Moore. Steve Kester and Casey Noonan finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
