"Money Mat" Pockets 2k in 358 Modified Special at Ransomville

RANSOMVILLE, NY (May 26, 2023) “Money Mat” Mat Williamson from St. Catharines, Ontario was victorious in the Krown Undercoating 358 Modifieds and picked up 2k for his efforts as Buffalo Auto Auction and DNA Towing & Junk Cars presented the Memorial Day Weekend special at the Ransomville Speedway Friday night. Brett Senek from Ransomville, NY won the Hy-Tech Concrete DIRTcar Sportsman feature event. Ken Camidge from Niagara Falls, NY won the KiPo Motors Street Stock feature. Curt Rung from Friendship, NY won his second straight Sunflowers of Sanborn Mini Stock feature. Mike Kramarz from Niagara Falls, NY won the Kevin’s Carpet Cleaning Novice Sportsman feature. Dylan Haniszewski edged out Jacob Lewczyk to win the inaugural Austin Wilson Memorial Demolition Derby.

Ryan Susice and Steve Lewis Jr were on the front row for the Krown Undercoating Modifieds feature event, with Lewis taking the lead ahead of Susice, Bicknell, Williamson, and Martin. Pete Bicknell would start to challenge Susice for second place, and Bicknell used the high side of the speedway, with Susice running the bottom lane. Ryan Susice would take over the lead from Lewis on lap six. Pete Bicknell’s run would end on lap nine, after having a plume of smoke underneath the 42. On the restart, Susice and Lewis would battle with Williamson racing in third. Following a lap 12 restart, Susice would continue to show the way, as Lewis and Williamson battled for second place, with Chad Brachmann racing in fourth place. Williamson would move into second on lap 17, after Lewis and Susice exchanged the top spot for several laps. Williamson and Lewis battled hard and heavy for the top spot, with Williamson taking the lead. Steve Lewis Jr’s strong run would end on lap 28, with mechanical issues bringing out the caution. Mat Williamson would drive away to pick up his third win of the season.

Brett Senek and Justin McKay brought the Hy-Tech Concrete Sportsman to the green flag for their 25-lap feature event with Senek showing the way. Cameron Tuttle and Jessica Kriegisch battled for third place for several laps, as Senek and McKay pulled away from the field. Tuttle was able to get around Kriegisch for third on lap seven, and would start to challenge McKay for second, ahead of Jim Harbison, and Kriegisch. Derek Wagner entered the top five for the first time on lap 20, after a tremendous battle with Kriegisch that lasted numerous laps. Colby Adamczak barrel-rolled in turn four bringing out the red flag on lap 21. Colby climbed out of his car under his own power. On the restart, Cam Tuttle would use the inside to take second away from McKay, with Wagner moving into third place. Senek would go on to score the win, his first of the season.

Tommy Bowen and Simon Bissell brought the KiPo Motors Street Stocks to the green flag for their 15-lap feature with Bissell showing the way ahead of Ken Camidge and John Zimmerman. Bissell would start to pull away from the field. Bowen would bring out the caution on lap 12, setting up a three-lap shootout. Bissell would pull away on the restart, but Camidge would take the lead away on the last lap and would go on to score the win.

Ian Paul would take over the lead from the start of the Sunflowers of Sanborn Mini Stocks feature event. Paul’s strong run would end on lap seven after having mechanical issues. Curt Rung and Cody Griffin would set the pace on the restart, with Rung taking off into the lead ahead of Chris Leone, Griffin, Dave Dussault, and Cole Susice. Curt Rung would go on to score his second straight win.

DJ Rosinski and Luke Blose were on the front row for the Kevin’s Carpet Cleaning Novice Sportsman main event, with Rosinski showing the way. Dillon Adamczak and Jocelyn Just got together in turn one to bring out the caution on lap two. Following the restart, Mike Kramarz would take over the lead and would start to pull away from the field. Following a lap six incident involving Cameron Rowlings, Kramarz would continue to show the way. “That Guy” would go on to score the win.

Next Friday night, Mark Cerrone Inc will present a full card of racing, featuring the Dick Wilkinson Memorial for the Sunflowers of Sanborn Mini Stocks plus kids rides! Pit gates will open at 5pm, grandstands open at 6pm, and racing will get underway at 7:15pm.
