John Duty scores top-10 finishes at Douglas County and Willamette

Happy Valley, Oregon’s John Duty took part in a pair of Dirt Late Model events in the Beaver State over the weekend, starting with the Coors Light I-5 Silver Bullet Series stop at Douglas County Dirtrack (Roseburg, Oregon) on Friday evening.

Duty drove his No. 5 car to a second-place finish in his heat race on the 3/8-mile oval, then rolled off on the outside of the second row for the 12-car, 35-lap A-Main. He ended the race in the 10th spot.

On Saturday, Duty moved to the 1/3-mile Willamette Speedway (Lebanon, Oregon) where he was one of 13 Late Model drivers in the pits for the track’s Strawberry Cup. He finished sixth in his heat and fourth in the Trophy Dash, ultimately starting in the second position for the 50-lap main event.

Duty turned in a fourth-place finish, following Collen Winebarger, Rob Mayea and Jerry Schram under the checkered flag. Dalton Bloom came home fifth.
