Ryan Hollister, Michael Rose, and Katelyn Davis Win Port Stock Features 5/20/23
We had 41 Port Stocks in attendance on 5/20! Here is the summary below.
Heat 1 lineup: Elston Flemming Jr, William Winans, Ann Winans, Jimmy Lohrke, Randy Steiner, Jaxon Robison, Doug Smith, Katelyn Davis, Don Cupp, Marcus Starnes, and Elijah Sutton (Elston Flemming Jr DNS putting Ann Winans outside pole). Coming to the start Ann Winans got a great start over husband William Winans. Doug Smith and Randy Steiner slice by William Winans. Jimmy Lohrke and Jaxon Robison also make it by William Winans. Mean while back up front Ann Winans has company from Doug Smith who was trying to take the lead on the high side in 3! Winans makes a show out of it as she continues to challenge down low! Doug smith gets clear in 1 and he is now the new leader! Katelyn Davis and Jimmy Lohrke battle behind Steiner for 4th. Marcus Starnes gets around teammate Jimmy Lohrke while Davis makes the move on Steiner down low for 3rd. The hard charging Katelyn Davis is now 3rd and now setting her sights on Ann Winans who is 2nd. Towards the back of the pack, Elijah Sutton starts making moves and gets around Don Cupp and is now going to the outside of Jaxon Robison for 7th, but lost momentum off 2 and that allows Cupp to challenge again! Davis has now caught Winans and makes the pass and moves to 2nd. Shortly after Davis makes the pass Ann Winans pulls it in to the pits. Our leader Doug Smith shows signs of smoke in 3 and Will Winans comes to a stop just passed the flag stand which brings out the caution, but we immediately go red due to Doug Smith's car is on fire! After the red flag, Randy Steiner is the new leader, but he has hard charger Katelyn Davis ready to go! On the restart, Steiner pulls away from Davis and Robison goes under Starnes for 3rd! The battle for 6th is on in turn 3 between Cupp and Sutton. Over in turn 1, Katelyn Davis is the new leader! Caution comes out as William Winans comes to a stop again this time just before the flag stand. On the restart, Katelyn Davis picks up right where she left off, but the car to watch was Don Cupp as he passed Starnes, Robison, and Steiner to finish 2nd! Outstanding last stitch effort by Cupp! Katelyn Davis is the winner! Don Cupp 2nd, Randy Steiner 3rd, Jaxon Robison 4th, Marcus Starnes 5th, and Elijah Sutton 6th.
Heat Race #2 lineup: Terry Kline, Andre Newman, Mike Cloutier, William Trudgen, Bennie Miller, CJ French, Jordan McCowan, Amanda Weatherwax, Brad Robison, and Jake Newman. Green flag flies and Terry Kline gets a great start and starts pulling away from the field, while Bennie Miller puts a move on William Trudgen for 2nd! Robison moves up to 3rd and starts gaining on Miller. Newman challenges down low in 3 on Trudgen to take over 4th. Battle for 6th is happening down the backstretch between Weatherwax and French. French has the better run up top and is able to keep Weatherwax at bay for the moment. The battle for 3rd is on down the backstretch between Robison and Newman. Newman is able to get by. Off turn 4 another battle is happening between French and Trudgen. French is able to get by and takes Weatherwax with him on the high side. In 2, Miller and Newman battle it out for 2nd! Newman has 2nd by the entry of turn 3. Newman then puts pressure on Terry Kline for the lead! Kline and Newman battle side by side for the lead! Kline is stronger than Newman down low for the moment. Newman tries a switch over move in 4, but hits the infield in 4 allowing Terry Kline to pull away and win heat race 2 leading ALL 8 LAPS CAUTION FREE! Jake Newman comes home 2nd, Bennie Miller 3rd, Amanda Weatherwax 4th, CJ French 5th, William Trudgen 6th, and Brad Robison 7th as he had a mechanical problem.
Heat Race #3 line up: Dillon Rose, Michael Rose, Ryan Diamond, Kevin McShane, Daniel Abercrombie, Tim Lyon, Josh Sattler, Nolan Gross, Drew Blom, and Scott Casaday. Dylan Rose jumps out to the early lead at the start, but Daniel Abercrombie would spin in turn 1 bring out our 1st caution. Since 0 laps were completed, the race was a complete restart. Dillon Rose with a great start Michael Rose challenges for the lead while Ryan Diamond and Josh Sattler battle behind them for 3rd and 4th. Sattler takes 3rd and Drew Blom tries the same move down low on Ryan Diamond for 4th. Diamond and Blom continue to battle and Sattler challenges Michael Rose for 2nd. sattler gets 2nd and now will chase down Dillon Rose for the lead. Blom gets around Diamond for 3rd and now starts to pressure Sattler. Sattler and Dillon Rose now battle for the lead! Drew Blom now joins the battle and goes low of Sattler to make it 3 wide! Sattler in the middle goes by Blom and drops down low and Blom bumps Sattler in 1, but Sattler is able to hold on. Sattler continues to challenge Rose for the lead! Sattler takes the lead and Rose starts to lose ground on Sattler while Blom starts to make a move on the inside for 2nd. Blom now up to 2nd and starts to put on the move for the lead. Sattler has the better run off turn 4 and starts to pull away from Blom. Sattler takes the win! Drew Blom 2nd, Dillon Rose 3rd, Ryan Diamond 4th, Nolan Gross 5th, Michael Rose 6th, Kevin McShane7th, and Tim Lyon 8th. (Scott Casaday and Daniel Abercrombie DNF).
Heat Race #4 lineup: Doug Peters, Seth Smith, Keera Allen, Ryan Kinsey, Mitch Dorin, Gavin McGuffey, Scott Gates, Ryan Hollister, Ryan Drumhiller, and Gord Alblas. Doug Peters is out to the early lead, but Seth Smith challenges on the outside for the lead at the start! Keera Allen falls back in the 74. Gavin McGuffey is on the move along with Mitch Dorin, Ryan Drumhiller, and Ryan Hollister all 3 wide for 5th! Hollister fades back while Dorin and Drumhiller slice by Kinsey with McGuffey up high! Drumhiller and McGuffey battle for 3rd! Drumhiller moves to the inside of Smith for 2nd. Hollister finds speed up high of Kinsey and gets by for 5th in 2! Drumhiller passes Peters in 1 to become the new leader! Smith and McGuffey battle for 3rd. McGuffey gets around Smith for 3rd. Hollister down low of Smith for 4th. Peters slows down with a problem handing 2nd place over to Ryan Hollister as he goes by Gavin McGuffey. Gord Alblas is on the move as he is now up to 4th! Ryan Drumhiller wins Heat 4! Ryan Hollister comes home 2nd, Gavin McGuffey 3rd, Gord Alblas 4th, Seth Smith 5th, Mitch Dorin 6th, Ryan Kinsey 7th, Scott Gates 8th, Keera Allen 9th, and Doug Peters DNF.
A Feature lineup: Tim Lyon, Josh Sattler, Nolan Gross, Drew Blom, Scott Casaday, Doug Peters, Seth Smith, Keera Allen, Ryan Kinsey, Mitch Dorin, Gavin McGuffey, Scott Gates, Ryan Drumhiller, and Gord Alblas. On the start Josh Sattler is the early leader. A lot of slicing and dicing happening behind the top 5! Ryan Hollister and Ryan Drumhiller wasting no time as they start their charge to the front! Ryan Drumhiller was picking them up and putting them down as he is already up to challenge Blom for 3rd! Gord Alblas is now on his way to the front challenging Nolan Gross for 6th! While Drumhiller is the leader and Hollister is in 2nd! Battle for 5th is on between Smith and Blom, Alblas goes by the battle as if that battle were standing still. Alblas gets by Sattler for 3rd and Smith gets by Blom for 5th! Now there is a battle for 8th between Gross and Dorin. Mitch Dorin wins that battle and now looks forward to Gavin McGuffey running on his own in 7th. McGuffey found a run on Blom for 6th. He goes top side to challenge Blom. McGuffey wins the battle. At the front it's the battle of the Ryans! Ryan Drumhiller is feeling all kinds of pressure from Ryan Hollister. Battle for 5th between Sattler and Dorin is on! Dorin gets by Sattler! Back up front Ryan Hollister goes to the inside of Drumhiller and takes the lead! Drumhiller gets in to the back of Hollister. Hollister gets loose as a result Drumhiller allows Hollister to gather the car back up to continue the battle. Kinsey now challenges Sattler for 6th! Ryan Hollister wins the A Feature! Ryan Drumhiller 2nd, Gord Alblas 3rd, Gavin McGuffey 4th, Seth Smith 5th, Scott Gates 6th, Mitch Dorin 7th, Ryan Kinsey 8th, Josh Sattler 9th, and Drew Blom rounds out the top 10. NO CAUTIONS!
B Feature lineup: Terry Kline, Andre Newman, Mike Cloutier, William Trudgeon, Bennie Miller, CJ French, Jordan McCowan, Amanda Weatherwax, Brad Robison, Jake Newman, Dillon Rose, Michael Rose, Ryan Diamond, and Kevin McShane. At the green flag, Terry Kline jumps out to the early lead. Meanwhile, CJ French and Bennie Miller battle for 3rd CJ French wins the battle and goes after Andre Newman to challenge for 2nd. French now has 2nd and Newman now has company from Miller and McCowan. Miller tries up high doesn't work while McCowan holds his line. Michael Rose is charging his way through the field and is now running with Miller and McCowan. Miller goes up to the high side of Newman while McCowan goes down low to make it a 3 WIDE battle for 3rd! While Michael Rose goes up top to join Bennie Miller. Andre Newman begins to fade as Miller and McCowan will battle for 3rd. Amanda Weatherwax and Andre Newman battle for 5th in 3! Weatherwax loses momentum on Newman allowing Ryan Diamond to challenge. Behind those 2 Kevin McShane and Amanda Weatherwax battle for 8th. Jake Newman is on the bottom behind Weatherwax to help her by McShane. Michael Rose is now up to 3rd, McCowan challenged Rose but lost momentum and brings Miller to challenge McCowan for 4th. Ryan Diamond goes to the outside of Bennie Miller for 5th. One driver we had to watch was Mike Cloutier who struggled in his heat race is now charging his way to the top 5! McShane gets around Newman for 7th and now McShane and Cloutier battle for 6th! Miller gets by McCowan and is now running 4th. Behind Miller, McCowan, Diamond, and McShane go 3 WIDE for 5th! Mike Cloutier wants a piece of that action as he sticks his nose in to challenge! Cloutier makes the pass on the high side of Diamond and McCowan and takes over 5th! Cloutier then makes the pass on Bennie Miller and takes over 4th. At the front, CJ French is the leader Terry Kline falls back to 3rd, and Michael Rose moves up to 2nd! Jake Newman and Dillon Rose battle for 11th. Our top 3 battled hard as Rose and Cloutier battle for 2nd while CJ French is still the leader...at the moment. Rose is now pressuring French for the lead in 3! After a little over a lap of hard side by side racing, Michael Rose was finally able to get by to become the new leader! Cloutier the hard charger is now going by CJ French for 2nd. Cloutier was a little too late and Michael Rose takes the W! Mike Cloutier comes home 2nd, CJ French 3rd, Ryan Diamond 4th, Terry Kline 5th, Jordan McCowan 6th, Jake Newman 7th, Kevin McShane 8th, Andre Newman 9th, Amanda Weatherwax 10th, Brad Robison 11th, William Trudgen 12th, Dillon Rose 13th, and Bennie Miller 14th (Engine trouble). NO CAUTIONS!
C Feature lineup: Elston Flemming Jr(DNS), William Winans, Ann Winans, Jimmy Lohrke, Randy Steiner, Jaxon Robison, Doug Smith(DNS), Katelyn Davis, Don Cupp, Marcus Starnes, and Elijah Sutton. Green flag flies immediately 3 WIDE Jaxon Robison top side, William Winans in the middle, and Randy Steiner down low. Jaxon Robison is the leader Steiner 2nd. William Winans has his hands full for 3rd with Don Cupp on the bottom and Katelyn Davis outside. Davis wins the battle and has 3rd. Elijah Sutton is on the move from the back of the pack to 4th. Don Cupp and Marcus Starnes battle for 6th. Cupp takes over 6th while William Winans continues to fall back. Elijah Sutton is now in 2nd and the battle for 3rd is on again this time it's between Steiner, Davis, and Cupp. Davis who was in the middle makes the pass for 3rd leaving Cupp and Steiner behind! Caution comes out as William Winans comes to a stop on the back stretch, and that huge lead that Jaxon Robison had is now GONE bunching up the whole field for the restart. Robison picks up right where he left off Elijah Sutton who started on the outside of Robison had company from Katelyn Davis and Davis takes over 2nd! Marcus Starnes moves up to 3rd putting Sutton to 4th. Cupp now able to get by Sutton for 4th. Starnes is shuffled back to 4th while Cupp takes over 3rd. Cupp and Starnes battle for 3rd again while Davis is trying to reel in Robison and challenge for the lead! Cupp drifts way up high in 3 & 4 allowing Starnes to have a better run on the inside! Challenge for the lead! Davis goes to the high side of Robison to make it a drag race! Robison will the better run ate moment while Marcus Starnes watches the battle! Davis is the NEW leader in 3! Starnes and Robison battle for 2nd on the last lap! Don Cupp gets by Robison for 3rd! Katelyn Davis WINS! Marcus Starnes 2nd, Don Cupp 3rd, Jaxon Robison 4th, Elijah Sutton 5th, Ann Winans 6th, and William Winans (DNF).
