Tyler Clem races into Dream prelim at Eldora Speedway
Big Frog Motorsports trekked to the famed Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Thursday with Tyler Clem making his first ever start at the prestigious half-mile oval for the 29th running of the Dirt Late Model Dream.
With the massive 95-car field split into two groups, Tyler got buried in time trials but revived his chances of making a preliminary feature with an 11th-to-6th run in his heat race. Needing to place second or better in his consolation to make the $12,000-to-win A-Main, Clem squeezed into the opener with a runner-up finish. Rolling off 23rd, Tyler clawed forward four spots in the stout field to finish 19th.
For another round of prelims on Friday, Clem passed four cars in his heat to finish fourth, locking him into the show. With $12,000 on the line, Tyler steered an ill-handling car to a 19th-place finish.
With preliminary points placing him on the fourth row of his heat race on Saturday, Tyler came in seventh, relegating him into a consolation event for one final shot at the $129,000-to-win A-Main. He was collected in an early tangle that ended his bid for the finale.
