Shipley takes 7th at Oakshade
On Saturday evening, Shipley Racing once again took on Oakshade Raceway (Wauseon, Ohio), where the team’s DominatorRaceProducts.com No. 44S DIRTcar Late Model was one of 19 entries in the class.
Driver Colin Shipley opened the evening by setting overall quick time. He then won his heat race from the pole on the 3/8-mile oval and began the main event from the inside of the second row.
Shipley had moved into the second spot and was running down the leader when a period of caution flags occurred mid-race. Shipley was spun and forced to the rear with heavy front-end damage. Still, he was able to fight back through the field and finished the A-Main in the seventh position.
After Saturday's event Shipley remains in second place in the point standings but gained on the leader. He now just sits four markers out of the top spot.
