12th-place finish in Hell Tour stop at Fairbury Speedway
Debuting with the DIRTcar Summer Nationals on Saturday, McKay Wenger made the short trip to Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.) for the fourth round of the Hell Tour.
Aboard his Popejoy Plumbing No. 42 Rocket Chassis Late Model, Wenger stopped the clock second-fastest in his group before placing first in his heat. Earning the fourth-starting position for the $10,000-to-win A-Main, McKay showed speed early but started to fade after tire wear became a factor. He held onto a 12th-place finish in the 50-lapper.
