Setser attends Southern Illinois Raceway for Highbanks Hustle

Taking part in the two-day Highbanks Hustle, Gunnar Setser invaded Southern Illinois Raceway (Marion, Ill.) on Friday afternoon to pilot his Midwest Tube Mills No. G5 Winged Outlaw Micro.

Amassing a stout field of 94 entries, Setser jumped up one spot in his heat to finish eighth, relegating him into one of six consolation races for another shot at Friday night’s opener. Taking the top-four, Gunnar put on a hard charge by passing five cars but failed to qualify with a seventh-place finish.

Scheduled to roll off on the front row of his heat on Saturday, Gunnar recorded a second-place finish, sending him into a C-Main. Scoring a fourth-place finish to transfer into a B feature, Setser was an early retiree on lap 7, ending his bid into the $12,000-to-win Highbanks Hustle finale.
