UCRA Roars Back to Life at Sugar Creek this Saturday

Blue Ridge, GA (6/30/23) --- Saturday night the United Championship Racing Alliance - UCRA and Sugar Creek Raceway in Blue Ridge, Georgia roar, back to life after a week off from competition. After Round 5 there is now a three way dance amongst the challengers for the $7500 UCRA championship presented by Red Line Synthetic Oil.

Jesse Hughes of Crossville, Alabama and Kasey Hall of Geraldine, AL share the points lead over Matt Shannon of Delano, Tennessee and Kenny Kizzar of Sale Creek, TN. Matt Lunsford of Senoia, Georgia and Colton Leyendecker of Crestview, Florida stand within the top five with: Roger Morgan, Brad Llewelling, Logan Styke and Matt Thompson making up the UCRA Top 10 in points. Saturday nights winner will receive $3000 prize money and an opportunity for a free $100 entry fee for the next event on the UCRA schedule. JT Seawright of Oxford, AL was the previous winner in UCRA 's competition and will be offered a free $100 entry fee to Saturday nights race.

So far this season, Shannon (#15) and the Team SRI Motorsports is the only multiple winner on the tour in 2023, taking a $3000 prize at Tazewell Speedway in TN and the richest paying UCRA event in series history that paid $7538 to win. Lunsford, Leyendecker, Collins and Seawright have all won series events this year. As for 604/Crate Late Models two-time Dirt Track World Champion Ronnie Johnson (#5) of Chattanooga recently picked up a $1500 warmup race prize in 604/Crate competition at the Creek. Georgians, Cody Haskins, Junior Whitener, Logan Palmer and Chad Kimbarl are also 604/Crate racers to keep an eye on. Pits open at 3PM, races start at 7PM on Saturday night.

Drivers meeting is set for 6:30 with Grandstands opening at 5PM. Ticket information can be found online at racesugarcreek.org and on their Facebook page.
