Putnam scores two Top-10s finishes with Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series
For the Fourth of July holiday weekend, Josh Putnam trekked to Senoia Raceway (Senoia, Ga.) on Saturday afternoon for the co-sanctioned Independence Shootout with the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series and Ultimate Super Late Model Series.
Among 39 entries, Josh topped his qualifying group, but missed the setup in his heat race and fell back to fourth. For the $10,000-to-win main event, Putnam gained six spots to finish inside the Top-10 in seventh.
Heading into the mid-season championship finale at Duck River Raceway Park (Wheel, Tenn.) with the points lead, Putnam recorded a runner-up finish in his heat which placed him on the third-row for the $7,500-to-win main event. Moving into the Top-5 at the drop of the green flag, Josh battled with fellow series regular Wil Herrington for much of the 40-lap feature but came up just short on a final restart and settled for a runner-up outing. Jadon Frame, Oakley Johns, and Dalton Cook rounded out the Top-5.
Josh is currently second in the HTFSDS point standings at the series' summer break.
