Hansen back in Sooner Series winner circle at Longdale

John Rittenoure - LONGDALE, Okla. (July 15, 2023) - It has been two months since Brett Hansen last visited victory lane. Saturday at Longdale Speedway the series points leader was back in winning form.

Hansen raced past Joseph Gorby to win his fourth Complete Well Testing Sooner Late Model Series presented by Hayden Ross Motorsports Foundation main event of the season.

Gorby, who was looking for a second consecutive victory after winning two weeks ago at Enid Speedway, jumped into the early lead followed closely by starting Hansen. Gorby was setting a strong pace, but Hansen found away around him on lap 15 and pulled away over the final 10 laps. Gorby settled for second with Richard Shepler following in third. Adam Popp climbed his way to fourth and AJ Brochu held on to fifth.

Sooner Late Model Series
The Sooner Late Model Series was formed in 2016 by Enid Speedway co-promoter Mark Brill. Brill felt there was not many opportunities for late model competitors to race in Oklahoma and the Sooner Late Model Series was formed. Now the series has grown beyond the borders of Oklahoma with events held in the neighboring states of Kansas, Texas and Arkansas
