Freeman follows Southern Nationals to Beckley Motor Speedway

On Friday afternoon, Payton Freeman made the trek to Beckley Motor Speedway (Beckley, W.Va.) for the first round of the Schaeffer's Oil Southern Nationals.

After a lengthy rain delay, Payton qualified fifth-quickest in his group but fell back a few positions in his heat race. Rolling off from mid-pack for the $10,053-to-win feature, Freeman recorded a 19th-place finish

Saturday's event at Wythe Raceway (Rural Retreat, Va.) was postponed.
