Runner-up finish in Hell Tour's Birthday Race at Oakshade Raceway
Debuting with the DIRTcar Summer Nationals on Saturday, Colin Shipley invaded Oakshade Raceway (Wauseon, Ohio) to pilot his Jim White Honda No. 44s Late Model for the annual Birthday Race.
With a stout field of 49 Late Models entered for the second-to-last stop for the Hell Tour, Colin followed up second-fastest qualifying effort in his time trial group with a convincing eight-lap heat race victory. Chasing a $10,000 payday in the feature, Shipley made a late charge to finish second in the 50-lapper. He trailed Hell Tour champ Ashton Winger to the checkers with Brian Ruhlman, Ryan Markham, and Dustin Moore rounding out the top-five.
