Marlar 13th in Silver Dollar Nationals at Huset's Speedway

Mike Marlar entered the Delk Equipment Sales No. 157 Late Model into battle with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) on Thursday afternoon at Huset’s Speedway (Brandon, S.D.) for the Silver Dollar Nationals weekend.

Drawing 40 Late Models for the event spanning over three days, Marlar came in fifth in his heat before picking up a consolation victory. With $12,000 on the line in Thursday’s Go 50 prelim, Mike crossed the line in 22nd.

After Mother Nature shifted Friday’s scheduled heat races to Saturday afternoon, Mike followed up a fourth-place run in his first heat with a fifth-place outing in the second round. Missing a qualifying spot based on passing points from heats, Marlar raced his way into Saturday night’s $53,000-to-win Silver Dollar Nationals with a consolation victory. Starting in 18th, Mike gained five spots in the 80-lap affair to finish 13th.
