Top-10 finishes for Mitchell at 67 Speedway and Ark-La-Tex
Jon Mitchell jumped into his Healthcare Express No. 5 Modified over the weekend to compete in two events near his home base of Texarkana, Texas.
On Friday, Mitchell was one of 24 USRA/IMCA Modified competitors at 67 Speedway of Texarkana (Texarkana, Arkansas). He finished fourth in his heat race on the quarter-mile oval, putting him 12th on the grid for the 25-lap A-Main. He climbed four spots in the feature to record an eighth-place finish.
The next night, Mitchell took on the quarter-mile Ark-La-Tex Speedway (Vivian, Louisiana). He drove from fourth to second in his heat, lining him up third for the 20-lap main event. He came home fourth in the 16-car USRA Modified field, chasing Dustin Henigan, Chris Henigan and Casey Findley to the checkered flag. Drake Findley finished fifth.
