Christmas is Rained Out.............in July

THOROLD, ONTARIO (July 29, 2023)...Heavy rain showers creating saturated grounds at Merrittville Speedway have forced track officials to cancel Christmas in July brought to us by Exlusive Imprint & The Jacket Cellar. Santa and his helpers will have to remain home at the North Pole.

The speedway will now direct their attention to next weeks Civic Holiday Weekend Annual Double Header. Saturday August 5th, 2023 will be sponsored by 2 Cool Automotive and will feature the Bill Willard Sr Stirling Silver DIRTcar Sportsman race and the Box Car races for the young ones. On Monday August 7th, Baron Roofing & Siding will present the 2nd Annual Canadian Grand Nationals. The 358 Modifieds will race 72 laps in honour of the track's 72nd year of racing with the winner taking home $4000.00. The Sportsman and Hoosier Stock winner will take home $2000.00 and the Mod Lite and 4 Cylinder winner will pocket $1000.00. One lucky fan will win $1000 cash and a young one 1000 candies.

Pit gates will open at 5pm, with grandstands opening at 5:30pm, and racing will begin at 7:00pm on both nights Saturday's portion will be regular admission. Special event admission prices will be in place on the Monday, with pit admission being $50 and kids 5 and under will be charged $25. Grandstand admission is $25 for adults, seniors (60 +) is $22 and youth (13-18) will be $20, with kids 8-12 admitted $10. As always, kids 7 and under will be admitted FREE.
