Hoffman rolls to eighth-place finish in Prairie Dirt Classic at Fairbury
Taking part in the 33rd running of the Prairie Dirt Classic, Nick Hoffman was one of 63 World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series entries on hand at Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.) for the two-day crown jewel.
With four preliminary features on Friday leading up to Saturday’s A-Main, Nick’s qualifying effort in his time trial group positioned him on the fourth row for his 25-lap prelim. Chasing a $5,000 prize, Hoffman jumped up two spots to register a fifth-place finish, which came behind Chris Madden, Brian Shirley, Brandon Sheppard, and Tanner English.
Transferring into a consolation race on Saturday, Hoffman raced his way into the $50,000-to-win Prairie Dirt Classic with a 15-lap B-Main victory. Starting in 18th, Nick advanced through the field 10 spots in the 100-lap affair to cap off the weekend with an eighth-place finish.
Nick sits fourth in the latest World of Outlaw point standings.
