Steffens charges to third in Prairie Dirt Classic at Fairbury Speedway

Taking part in the 33rd running of the Prairie Dirt Classic weekend, Kyle Steffens traveled to Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.) on Friday afternoon to compete in the DIRTcar Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals season finale.

In a massive field of 63 Modifieds, Steffens’ time trial effort placed him on the front row for his preliminary feature. With $500 on the line, Kyle dropped two spots in the 25-lapper to finish fourth.

With Friday’s prelim finish placing him on the seventh row for Saturday’s $5,000-to-win finale, Steffens advanced through the field 11 spots in the 40-lap affair to register a third-place finish. He chased Mike Harrison and Michael Long to the checkers with Tyler Nicely and Ethan Dotson rounding out the top-five.
