Harris charges to runner-up finish with Crate Racin' USA at Golden Isles
Racing at Golden Isles Speedway (Brunswick, Ga.) for the second week in a row, Clay Harris entered his Rescue Metal Framing No. 6H into Crate Racin' USA competition on Saturday afternoon.
With the original two-day show pushed to just Saturday, Harris qualified sixth-fastest out of 27 Late Models at the speedway. Rolling off from the third-row in the 40-lap main event, Clay quickly moved into the Top-5 and made his way to the runner-up spot on lap 28. Harris followed race-long leader Mark Whitener and even challenged him for the top spot but came up just short and settled for a runner-up finish in the $5,000-to-win event.
