Timms records fifth-place finish in 360 Knoxville Nationals
Ryan Timms unloaded his CitGard Engine Oil / driveWFX.com No. 5T Sprint Car at Knoxville Raceway (Knoxville, Iowa) on Thursday afternoon as his preliminary night kicked off for the 33rd annual Xtreme Powered by Mediacom 360 Knoxville Nationals presented by Great Southern Bank.
With the 104-car field divided into two groups for qualifiers on Thursday and Friday leading up to Saturday’s finale, Timms timed in third-fastest overall before placing third in his heat race. Chasing a $3,000 payday and a qualifying spot into Saturday’s $20,000-to-win 360 Knoxville Nationals finale, Ryan recorded a 10th-place finish, which placed him third overall in Thursday’s preliminary points.
Rolling off sixth for Saturday night’s 360 Knoxville Nationals A-Main, Ryan clawed forward one spot in the talent-laden field to finish fifth. He trailed Brian Brown, Aaron Reutzel, Rico Abreu, and Parker Price Miller across the line in the 30-lap affair.
