Rodney Sanders fourth in Silver Jubilee at Mason City
Rodney Sanders rolled into Mason City Motor Speedway (Mason City, Iowa) on Wednesday afternoon to compete in his preliminary night for the 25th Anniversary United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) Silver Jubilee.
With the 69-car field divided in two groups for the two-day preliminary period, Sanders raced into his prelim on Wednesday with a fifth-place showing in his heat. Pinned on the seventh row for the $1,000-to-win qualifying feature, Rodney gained four positions in the 25-lapper to finish 10th.
Rolling off on the second row of his B-Main on Saturday afternoon, Rodney locked his spot into the $25,000-to-win Silver Jubilee finale with a third-place finish. Taking the green in 21st, Sanders marched through the field 17 positions in the 78-lapper to register a fourth-place finish. He followed Tanner Mullens, Dan Ebert, and Jake O’Neil across the line with Clayton Wagamon coming in fifth.
Rodney holds a 168-point advantage atop the latest USMTS point standings.
