Shipley 12th at Attica, 4th at Oakshade
Driver Colin Shipley and his No. 44S Late Model team traveled to a pair of Ohio tracks over the weekend for a double dip of racing in the Buckeye State.
The action kicked off on Friday at Attica Raceway Park (Attica, Ohio), where Shipley was one of 25 UMP Late Model competitors in the pit area at the 1/3-mile track. Shipley drove from fifth to third in his heat race, positioning him ninth on the grid for the 25-lap feature. The team experimented with a new setup throughout the evening and Shipley came home with a 12th-place finish.
On Saturday, after a stop at Domination Race Cars to adjust the setup once again, Shipley and the crew made their weekly trip to Oakshade Raceway (Wauseon, Ohio). A total of 26 Late Models were registered for battle at the 3/8-mile oval. Shipley finished third in his heat race and started the main event from the seventh spot. He marched forward to claim a fourth-place result, trailing Rusty Schlenk, Steve Kester and Casey Noonan under the checkered flag.
With the top-five finish, Shipley moved to second in Oakshade track points and sits 32 markers behind championship leader Devvin Shiels.
