Holland picks up pair of podium finishes at Lincoln Park and Adams County
Driver Chase Holland and his Industrial Dock & Door No. 45 Dirt Modified team hauled from Mississippi to the Midwest over the weekend to compete at tracks in Indiana and Illinois.
First up on Saturday, Holland entered the DIRTcar UMP Modified portion of the program at Lincoln Park Speedway (Putnamville, Indiana). Thirty-one drivers were on hand for the $2,000-to-win Gary Ricketts Buckeye Bob 33.
Holland set the second-quickest time in his qualifying group on the 5/16-mile track and won his heat race from the front row. That started him fourth for the 33-lap A-Main, where he made a pass for the runner-up spot on the last lap. Holland finished 1.372 seconds behind winner Derk Losh, with Jeff Deckard, Logan Mounce and Matt Mitchell rounding out the top five.
On Sunday evening, the team moved to Adams County Speedway (Quincy, Illinois) where 23 DIRTcar UMP Modified competitors sought the $1,000 top prize in the King of the Bullring event.
Holland finished fourth in his heat on the quarter-mile oval and began the 18-lap feature from the seventh spot. He climbed four positions to finish third behind winner Austen Becerra and runner-up Trevor Neville. Kenny Wallace and Tim Luttrell finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
