Jackson Jr. continues season with Ron Jenkins Memorial at Lucas Oil Speedway
The Labor Day weekend saw Tony Jackson Jr. and his Willard Quarries No. 56JR team return to action with the Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA).
On Friday, Jackson was one of 34 MLRA Late Model drivers at the 3/8-mile Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Missouri) for the first night of the two-day Ron Jenkins Memorial. Jackson turned in a third-place effort in his heat race, starting him 11th in the night’s 30-lap, $5,000-to-win feature. He finished in the same position.
The following evening, 35 MLRA Late Models entered the conclusion of the ninth annual event with $11,000 on the line for the winner. Jackson won his heat race and began the 40-lap A-Main from the third spot. He led early, but faded and had to pit for a new tire around the halfway point. Jackson ultimately did not finish and registered a 17th-place result.
