Pearson Jr. grabs Top-10 in prelim night of Knoxville Nationals
Following the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series to Iowa, the Papich Racing team invaded Knoxville (Iowa) Raceway for the 19th-annual Knoxville Lucas Oil Nationals.
With 40 Late Models checked in for night one, EPJ qualified fifth-quickest in his group before placing fourth in his heat race. In conjunction with the invert, EPJ started the 25-lap preliminary feature from the front row and brought home a Top-10 finish in 10th.
For another $7,000-to-win preliminary feature on Friday, Earl was victorious in his heat race but started 16th in the A-Main after the invert. Completing only eight of the scheduled 25 laps, Pearson Jr. recorded a DNF.
With a $40,000 paycheck up for grabs in Saturday's finale, EPJ started the 75-lap main event from the ninth-row and wound 14th when the checkered flag flew.
