Mechanical failure halts Roberson's podium run at Lake Cumberland

After Mother Nature sidelined his plans a week prior with the XR Workin’ Man Series, Logan Roberson broke out his CVR Race Cars No. 17 Late Model on Saturday at Lake Cumberland Speedway (Burnside, Ky.) for the American All-Star Series-sanctioned Bluegrass Bonanza.

With 33 Late Models amassed, Roberson followed up the third-fastest qualifying effort in his group with a sixth-to-third showing in the Race Track Connection Dash. Earning the third-starting position for the $5,000-to-win A-Main, Logan overtook second following a lap-five restart and began closing the distance on front-running Skylar Marlar when a coil wire broke and ended his night.

Full results from the event are available at www.AmericanAllStarSeries.com.

Roberson now turns his attention to Tyler County Speedway (Middlebourne, W. Va.) on Wednesday for the Castrol FloRacing Night in America event before heading south to Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, S.C.) on Friday and Saturday for the Southern All Star Series-sanctioned Mike Duvall Memorial.
