Drake Troutman
Mechanical issues slow Troutman's weekend in Late Model
Drake Troutman was one of 27 Super Late Models entered at Tyler County Speedway (Middlebourne, W. Va.) on Wednesday for the ninth round of the Castrol FloRacing Night in America miniseries.
Squeezing into the $23,023-to-win A-Main with a fifth-place finish in his heat race, Drake was one of seven cars that pulled off early in the 50-lapper.
For the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned Great Lakes 50 on Friday at Raceway 7 (Conneaut, Ohio), Drake’s sixth-place finish in his heat positioned him on the ninth row for the main event. Chasing a $12,000 top prize, Troutman retired on the third circuit.
The race weekend drew to a close on Saturday at Pittsburgh’s Pa. Motor Speedway (Pittsburgh, Pa.) with Troutman securing his spot into the $30,000-to-win Pittsburgher with a fifth-to-second showing in his consolation race. He ran as high as 12th before fuel pressure issues knocked him out of the 75-lap affair on lap 48.
