Pair of Top-10 outings with SAS in Mike Duvall Memorial at Cherokee
Staying close to home over the weekend, Benji Hicks made the short trip to Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, S.C.) on Friday afternoon for the first night of the annual Mike Duvall Memorial with the Southern All Stars.
With 32 Late Models signed in, Hicks missed the setup in qualifying but dominated his B-Main to transfer to the 30-lap feature. During the late $5,000-to-win feature, Benji charged forward 10 positions to land inside the Top-10 in eighth.
Picking it up in qualifying on Saturday, Hicks earned the seventh-place starting position and passed two competitors on his way to a fifth-place outing in the $12,000-to-win finale.
