Early exit in Tar Heel 53 at Tri-County Racetrack
Taking part in the 18th annual FK Rod Ends Tar Heel 53, Dale McDowell unloaded his E-Z-GO No. 17m Late Model at Tri-County Racetrack (Brasstown, N.C.) on Thursday for the Castrol FloRacing Night in America miniseries event.
With 34 Late Models entered for the 10th stop of the tour, McDowell raced into the $23,023-to-win A-Main with a third-place finish in his heat. He started in ninth but his night was short-lived after breaking a driveshaft on the seventh circuit.
The team had plans to compete with the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series over the weekend at Senoia (GA) Raceway and Rome (GA) Speedway, but both were cancelled inclement weather.
