Earl Pearson Jr. concludes Lucas Oil season in Dirt Track World Championship
On Friday afternoon, Earl Pearson Jr. joined 61 other competitors at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) as the half-mile oval hosted the opening round of the 43rd running of the Lucas Dirt-sanctioned Dirt Track World Championship.
After Friday’s program was delayed to Saturday due to continuous rain, series’ and track officials made the decision to shift heat races scheduled for Saturday to Sunday with hopes for better track conditions.
Pearson Jr. finished sixth in his heat race and was unable to transfer through his B-Main which forced him to take a provisional starting position in the $100,000-to-win finale. Completing only 22 laps of the scheduled 100, EPJ wound up 24th.
Earl finished 10th in the series standings.
