Last-lap pass lifts Ivey to second World Short Track Championship at Charlotte
Once again behind the wheel of the Shurling Motorsports No. G4 Late Model, Trent Ivey visited The Dirt Track at Charlotte (Concord, N.C.) on Thursday afternoon for the World Short Track Championship.
In the special Championship Feature, Ivey gained two positions from his second row starting position to earn a runner-up finish behind Dillon Brown.
With a 10th-place qualifying effort from Thursday placing him on the second row of his heat race, Trent moved passed two competitors to record a second-place finish on Friday
Slated to start seventh in Saturday's finale, Trent quickly moved into the Top-5 and advanced into the runner-up position with 10 laps remaining. Making his move in the final corner on the last lap, Ivey powered by race-long leader Dennis Franklin to score the $4,000 payday. He topped Franklin while Jeremy Steele, John Ruggiero Jr., and Logan Roberson completed the Top-5.
