Chase Junghans lands Top-10 finish in World Finals prelim at Charlotte
Chase Junghans made the haul to The Dirt Track at Charlotte (Concord, N.C.) over the weekend as the World of Outlaws World Finals weekend kicked off on Wednesday with a pair of qualifying rounds.
With the massive 74-car field divided into two groups, Junghans backed up the 10th-fastest qualifying lap in his first round with the 13th-quickest lap in the second session.
Starting on the second row of his heat race on Thursday, Chase squeezed into the $15,000-to-win preliminary feature with the third-and-final transfer spot. Climbing five positions in the 35-lap opener, Junghans rolled to a ninth-place finish.
On Friday, Junghans lost a spot in his heat, relegating him into a B-Main for another shot at the A-Main. Transferring only the top-two, Chase fell short with a fourth-place finish.
The weekend drew to an early close for Chase on Saturday after missing a transfer spot in his heat. He was slated to start on the second row of his consolation race but elected to scratch.
